1st Day in Konya

Our first day in Konya, we met at eight o’clock at school.
When we arrived all the Turkish students sang their national anthem.
We begun to meet  all the students of the school, they were very nice people. After some time talking and visiting the school we went to meet the District Governor; he welcomed us, asked a few questions about our project and also gave us some presents for students and teachers.
Later we were received by the Director of National Education in Konya. Back to school, we were invited to the opening ceremony, they welcomed us and some students sang songs and played traditional music. Then, we had a wonderful lunch prepared by the  Turkish students and some time later they showed us the school. We had fun learning their traditional dances and songs.

After this, we went to the Islamic Art Center where we learned about Ebru painting, a traditional art of paper marbling on water, it was a really nice experience.

We returned back to school where we got an interesting class about energy because this project is about energy.
We learned how we use energy, the pros and cons of the different types of energy and some definitions. So interesting!!

When we finished, each student went back to their host house to get in touch with the new culture. Later, all students had a nice evening bowling all together and later shopping. We were really tired so we went home and relaxed after a tiring and exciting day. It was an amazing first day in Konya!!!!
